Two areas of the Christian life that induce so much guilt – prayer & evangelism.

But instead of being areas of guilt, they should be things that are natural expressions of who God’s people are. Have a listen to hear what Paul has to say.

Have you ever thought that God could be pleased with you? Or are you more of the opinion that the only time he ever takes any notice of you is when you’re doing something wrong.

Well, nothing could be further from the truth. God has made a new people through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and he loves it when His people reflect Him in their day to day lives. Have a listen and see what this looks like in three key areas of life – marriage, family, work.

Christians are new people. Not because of what they have done, but because of what God has done in Jesus.

And because they’re new people, they live radically different lives. Have a listen to see what Paul thinks that looks like.

This passage is the centre of Paul’s argument and letter to the Colossians – particularly 2:6-7.

What does God require of us? Come to Jesus, stay in Him.

Paul pauses in this part of the letter to tell the Colossians why it is that he works so hard, and what it is that he hopes for them. Have a read and a listen and find out about Paul’s struggles, methods and goals for ministry.

Jesus is supreme over the existing creation, and the new creation coming. He is the most qualified person you’re ever going to come across, and is the person most able to answer any question you have about life and the universe – because he created it, and he’s renewing it. What does the Christian life look like? Has your view of the Christian life been warped and distorted over time?

In Paul the Apostle’s letter to the Colossians, we see Paul telling them that the Christian life should keep going in exactly the same way it started. In Jesus.

So Paul’s going to tell these confused Colossians, that what they’re seeing in the life of their very young church – transformation because of the Gospel – is what they’re going to keep seeing if they stay with Jesus.
